How slim can scissors get before the blade edges lose cutting power, the blade tips lose control and it becomes a burden to cut hair?
There is a limit to how slim scissors can be because lighter blades create less cutting power. The limit is usually “not as slim as you want it to be”, so this time not only have we thought about reducing the actual weight of the scissors but we’ve tried to recreate a “sense” of lightness by also focusing on how smooth the cutting action is. The fluorocarbon casing (think TEFLON frying pans…) has a satin-smooth finish which decreases the friction between the blades making the cutting action feel light yet controlled. Not only that the coating is hydro-phobic so it encourages water droplets & hair cuttings to slip off the scissors so that they look immaculate everyday.
So it looks sleek, is very slim, very sharp and likes to keep itself clean. Surely we’ve cracked the time-old slim scissors question?

Our new and improved scissors oil is now extracted from the Japanese camellia plant. Ever noticed how sumo wrestlers and geishas have slicked back hair? The incredible shine comes from the oil extracted from the Camellia Japonica and has been used for centuries in Japan for polishing samurai swords and as hair oil. As a scissor oil it is light and doesn’t thicken even after long periods. Just lightly wipe the joints with the applicator to ensure your scissors are always smooth. For persistent dirt and gunk around the screw or blade scrub lightly with the applicator before wiping applicator pad clean and returning to bottle. Finish by wiping clean with the chamois cloth.
